On the weekend of January 24/25, Cornell Hockey will honor the 1970 Undefeated National Championship Team on their 50th anniversary. On Friday night against Dartmouth, players will wear a special jersey that can be purchased for $225 … first come, first served … contact Coach Schafer if you are interested. Proceeds from the sale of these game-worn jerseys support the Portal de Belen Foundation and the team’s sixth service trip to the Dominican Republic.
The Cornell men’s hockey program has made six trips to the Dominican Republic in 2009, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2019 that included several projects. On the most recent trip, those projects included building a house, delivering clothes and shoes, donating new dirt for a baseball field, building latrines, and purchasing and delivering water filters.
1970 team will be introduced on Saturday between periods of the Harvard game. Here are photos of the team.
Non-game-worn jersey and commemorative hoodie (pictured at left) are available for purchase.
